We drove to Monterey for a bridge tournament. The roads were clear and dry both ways.

We got about 8 gold and 7 red points for our efforts, playing pairs, and playing team games (Swiss and knock outs) with people from the San Jose club and two guys from Sonoma.

Very good- that completes the gold we need for Life Master.

Friday a storm blew in off the Pacific: rain and high winds.

The wind blew tree branches and debris all over the place, and blew some pool furniture into the pool:

Since we were there last year they reopened the restaurant, but there are several room buildings still being remodeled.

This fire pit in a gazebo is new:

The storm Friday caused several power failures. Here are people playing bridge by emergency lighting:

Saturday we went out to dinner with Allan, Peggy, Joel and Kat. The Plan A restaurant in Seaside was closed, so, Plan B: the Hula restaurant in Monterey. Good. Then we went back for the evening bridge session: our team (us and two Sonoma guys) against them in the bracket 3 Knock Out finals. They won, but we got 8.59 points (half gold) for second.

Sunday we drove back via 152 and got pies at the Gizdich Ranch outside Watsonville.

There was no damage to our house, but a section of our neighbor Jeannie’s fence had blown down.
