PartyScore is PC duplicate bridge scoring software that handles up to four tables (7 to 16 players).

PartyScore:

>> accommodates any number of players from 7 to 16, using a combination of roving dummies and sit-outs,

>> provides a variety of individual, pair and team movements, and can print player and table guides,

>> provides a player roster, which can be printed,

>> updates the displayed report as each result is entered; the complete report can be printed at any time,

>> supports English, French, Spanish and Italian (see examples),

>> customizes the travelers, report, etc. for the movement, players and language, and

>> is mouse-oriented except that the player name and contact information has to be typed.

There is no user’s manual; the program is designed to be intuitive, and extensive Help is provided.

            >> There’s a lot to read the first time, plus player data entry, so a practice session is recommended.

PartyScore cannot be used by ACBL clubs, which must use ACBLscore.

Delivery:

If you have both Windows XP and Windows 7 / Vista machines, for instance a desktop and a laptop,

you could download PartyScore to the XP machine and copy the PartyScore directory to the other PC.

If you have a flash drive, you could install PartyScore on the flash drive for easy portability, with very

little performance penalty.

Windows 7 / Vista delivery:

For Windows 7 / Vista almost-free trial, send $5 and I’ll mail you a CD, but look at the examples first.

If you have a Windows Vista machine, logon as administrator before installing PartyScore.

Delivery via media

First

CD

Send $25 ($20 plus shipping and handling) to the address below.

I’ll return a CD with the PartyScore directory & XP msi file.

or

Flash

drive

Send $22 ($20 plus S&H) and a flash drive.

I’ll return your flash drive with the PartyScore directory & XP msi file.

Second

Initial

installation

Copy the PartyScore directory to the PC,

preferably somewhere in My Documents.

Then, to get the icon on your desktop, see FAQs.

or

Upgrade

Copy the PartyScore.exe file to the PartyScore directory.

The media will contain both the directory and the XP msi file. The PartyScore directory contains:

PartyScore.exe             the executable file (program)

PartyScore_data.txt      the data file

PartyScore_icon.ico     the desktop icon

XP msi file contains this directory in a compressed format.

Windows XP delivery:

If you have Windows XP but want PartyScore on media, follow the Windows 7 instructions for ordering media,

then you can either run the msi file (better for initial installation), or copy the exe file (better for upgrade),

or copy the directory and hand-install a desktop icon.

Upgrademeans the version of PartyScore you’re running is lower than 2.6.

If you’re not sure which version you’re running, you can check the version and expiration by running

PartyScore and selecting Help -> Hello. The current versions are:

2.5              free:      Hello will show an expiration date, three months or so after you installed it.

2.6              paid:     Hello will show expiration date “none”.

Version 2.5 is no longer offered, because the XP installer not longer correctly handles an upgrade.

Disclaimers:

For “Not Played” board scoring and for IMP (International Match Point) individual and pair games scoring,

PartyScore is simpler than, and thus different from, ACBLscore.

“postas.com” is not liable for any consequential damages, and no warranty is expressed or implied.

Known bugs:

1)                  The printed report does not print the player name when the partner is “roving dummy” (June 5, 2011).

1a) Criteria: This problem appears for pair and team games, when the first player of a pair is a named player

and the second player is “roving dummy”, when the report is printed.

1b) Symptoms: For player “John Doe”, the printed report shows “ and roving dummy” instead of

“John Doe & roving dummy”.

1c) Workaround: On the Players tab, switch the player with “roving dummy” and print the report again.
